Usually we stay outside screaming "Happy new year!" until someone starts firing off guns or rifles down the road, and then we go back inside.
I always set my watch by the atomic clock. But the real countdown is always on TV for my Mom...she watches the ball drop every year.
Hey! They got a new ball this year! They said it's even bigger and ballier than the last ball!
Happy New Year, everybody!

This year they let people but New Year wishes in the ball - I imagine it is too late now (and I don't have the link) but they had people submit 'wishes' on a website that were then printed and put in the ball to shower down on everyone. The site said there was everything from Happy New Year to Keep my son safe in Iraq to I want a new bike.
