Hi violet

Thanks for the scriptual referances. They will help.

Jasher,

My interest is in the phyisical healing of deseases and or disorders by means of God gifted abilities and or alternitive medicine.

I'm not interested in the tele-vangelist "big show" miracles or the Charismatic practices or exagrated claims, but the common grass roots (so to speak ) healers. Those who exercise their ability without all the hype. The ones who have or at least appear to have significant powers or abilities to bring about healing or releif from the suffering and or effects of a desease or disorder.
I'm not necessarily looking for the miracle cure but those things which help the healing process or releive pain and discorfort. Somehting that aids in making it possible for an individual to cope or become cured.

So far I have found that the emotional, spiritual and physical are all three very closely related. Generaly speaking, any successful healing in one sphere requires work in at least one of the other two.

Three things you brought up ,I find interesting and would like to further examine
Demonic healing. . . The aspect of communicating and removing demonic spirits and therefore releiving the individual of the problems they cause. This is an aspect that I had not concidered.

And in your testemony you relayed that you did some things that I as well have not yet concidered.
Healing or relieving ones self of a condition and the direct communication with and rebuke of demons.

If I may ask ? Do you believe that God cured this for you, give you the power to do it for yourself or that God was not involved as in you did it by and on your own? I will understand if you arn't willing to answer this in an open forum. If you would feel more comfortable speaking of this privately please PM me. Or if this is something you do not wish to discuss with me I understand.

A few times I have found myself rebuking Satan for what I felt he was doing in the life of a loved one.
My prayer has many times produced good results in the emotional and spirtual aspects of some individuals lives. But I believe that prayer of any believer can do as much.
I have also layed on hands and the person was physicaly healed. This only happened once and I attribute it all to God. I don't believe that I have any special gift.

Barnarenth,

Quote:
Even Nazarenes believe in anointing with oil and laying on of hands, and they at least used to be an extremely conservative church. It's not at all like the ones you see on televangelists, but I've personally seen healing through both methods...and I've seen it NOT work more often than it did.

As far as alternative medicine...I've seen that too. In the end, I think a lot of it comes from the power of our own minds and faith to heal various afflictions. God created us with a marvelous body and mind, capable of great things. Though, when we take that mind and place it over God and seek power beyond him, we begin to step into the realms of witchcraft.
If you don't mind my asking? Have you concidered the possibility that the healings you have witnessd are the result of a shot gun approch? Like, if you shoot enough prayer at things sooner or later you'll hit one? Any thoughts on this?

I have a concern for making sure that no matter what we are getting benifit from that we are sure that we are seeking and getting it from God.
Like you, I feel that there is the possibility that not all we could do concerning this is right and proper.

Thanks a alot you all. I certianly appreciate your input.

Anyone else have comments on the use of prayer, herbs , accupuncture, theroputic massage, or any other alternitive medical proceedures or practices, good or bad.? Any one have personal experiences(good or bad) they would be willing to share concerning this topic? PMs are fine if you prefer not to speak in the open forum.
I Certianly would appreciate it.

Blessings in
His name
Cliff
