Named Storm Noel Update, 04:00 HRS CDT, 03 November 2007
'NOEL' has left the area of the Atlantic where Tropical systems are tracked by NOAA. The storm has been reclassified as an extremely powerful low pressure Ocean Storm. The center of this intense storm is tracking northeast along the coast of the United States and is causing very high wave action from coastal Virginia to New England. The coastal areas of Massachusetts and Rhode Island can expect heavy rains today with wind gusts in excess of 70 MPH.
Persons in New England and the Maritime Provinces of Canada are being urged to monitor local media and the National Weather Service offices for official watches, warnings and updates. This intense Ocean Storm will cause tree and power line damage today throughout coastal New England. This will be our final update concerning this storm.
