Tropical Storm NOEL, Initial Advisory, 28 October, 2007 - 17:00 Hrs CDT
This Tropical Storm formed from a series of low pressure areas just south of Haiti and the Dominican Republic over the past several hours. The maximum sustained winds are over 60 MPH and strengthening is likely.
This storm is moving north northwest along the southern coast of the Dominican Republic at 5 MPH. This slow movement gives the storm the potential to strengthen and to possibly make hurricane status. The track of this storm will involve southeastern Cuba my mid week and there is a possible southeastern Florida involvement. While it is much too early to be able to predict an exact track, persons in the entire southern half of Florida and the Bahamas are being urged to watch the progress of this storm very carefully.
