Tropical Storm Karen Update, 08:00 Hrs CDT - USA, 29 September, 2007
Tropical Storm Karen has been very slow to move but has now increased it's forward speed to 12 MPH. Karen may soon weaken to Tropical Depresson strength, but we are watching an interaction in the upper level steering currents that will start Karen moving more westerly in 6 to 8 days. This could be significant for persons along the Atlantic Coast of the US. If the computer modeling stays on track, we are looking at some intensification by late next week. That, combined with a westerly movement, may have a US East Coast involvement.
Our next Named Storm Karen update will take place as conditions warrant.
