HURRICANE FELIX UPDATE 04 September 2007 - 15:00 Hrs CDT-USA
Hurricane Felix came ashore near the Nicaragua - Honduras border this morning as a Catagory 5 Hurricane with winds at 165 MPH +. This is only the second time in modern weather history that two Cat 5 storms have made landfall in the same season.
Felix continues to dump huge amounts of rain in the mountainous Central American region and continues to be a severe flood threat.
The track of Felix will continue across Central America and it will be loosing strength each hour. It is currently a weak Category 2. Since this storm has little chance of strengthening or making a northward turn, this will be our final Felix update unless an unforseen event changes the situation.
