I remember in the summer staying away from home all day long...so long as I could hear my mother call us in at dusk.
I remember air raid drills during school
I remember buying penny candy from the corner store...I was only 5 the store was 6 city blocks away.
I remember "raiding" the neighbors tree for apples (we had permission, but the idea of raiding it was more exciting)
I remember changing the channel with the clicking dial on the set.
I remember how an 8 track would occasionally cut a song in half.
I remember being shocked when a candy bar went for $.25.
I remember Grandpa giving me soap for Christmas, and being excited about it. - I tear up when I smell that particualr soap.
