As for 'turn the other cheek' Jesus is speaking about debates, not real bodily injury and killing. That's why the same 'gentle Jesus' COMMANDED His disciples to get swords! What do you suppose they used those swords for...BACK SCRATCHERS???
No. No. No. Pacifism is NOT a Christian doctrine.
As for supporting violence. God Himself tells us we must defend the innocent against the wicked. This is exactly what Israel is doing.
Again I ask: Are you one who sees a moral equivalencey between Hezb'allah's deliberate murder of civilians, and the 'collateral damage' which still happens when Israel goes to GREAT PAINS to NOT KILL CIVILIANS?
How very broad such a moral vision must be..............

Amen Fr. Onesimus,
I remember the late and wonderful bible teacher Zola Levitt expounding on 'Replacement Theology' and how the 'Church' doesn't understand the 'Jewishness' of the scriptures!
Jesus telling His disciples to go and buy the 'swords' Luke 22:36-38
is exactly for their self-defense.
I knew some Christians who got robbed and beat up who I later trained in Krav Maga. They said they, "thought' turning the other 'cheek' was give your wallet and 'hope' you don't get your head smashed in"!
The way I see it, Hezbollah are murdering and Israel is defending itself!
Terrorism is carried out not by some shadowy group that the Palestinian leader can disavow, however disingenuously. This is Hamas in action—the group that was recently elected to lead the Palestinians. At least there is now truth in advertising: a Palestinian government openly committed to terrorism and to the destruction of a member state of the U.N. openly uses terrorism to carry on its war.
We are to love our enemies, to show as Christians the difference from their 'hate' of Christianity to our benevolence prompted from our love of God!
But, the Word of God is 'balanced' Proverbs 11:1. We need as Israel at times to 'defend' ourselves and have the enemies of God and freedome to be destroyed!
Look what David said of 'his' enemies!
Psalms 18:39: For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
Psalms 18:40: Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
Psalms 18:41: They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
Psalms 18:42: Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
Peace Be Unto You All,
Sean Castle
