Li Hongzhi deifies himself as Buddha, transmits the theory of Armageddon. In the guise of qigong treatment, Li claims people can be self-healing without going to the hospital or taking medicine, if he practices Falun Gong.

"Before practicing Falun Gong, dad took medicine or went to see the doctor when he was sick. After practicing Falun Gong, he refused to do so. He considered practicing Falun Gong was the way to dispel evil.

36-year-old Qian Shujun was a worker of a brickyard in Nantong. He became abnormal after practising Falun Gong. In Febuary 1992, he committed suicide from drowning.

Similarly, Li Youlin, one of Falun Gong practitioners, hanged himself. His mother testified, "He has been practicing Falun Gong everyday for one year. He worshiped Li Hongzhi very much. I hate Falun Gong because it was Li Hongzhi that killed my child. "

Li Hongzhi strongly protested Chinese Government for his being suspected on the grounds of disrupting Chinese social order.

The Chinese Government's standpoint is that Falun Gong practitioners believe Li Hongzhi is, not an ordinary man, so they determine it as a cult. Li Hongzhi openly express his view of being Deity. At that time, he has been sitting on a lotus flower cultivation with cassock on his body.

At the end of April, 1999, in front of the Falun Gong practitioners who was sitting in demonstration before the Tianjin Education College, Li looked at the sun and said excitedly,"Of cause, I could identify every problem of the world, absolutely... know all the things of human beings."

"It was overcast that day. Suddenly, The Sun shines brightly. They(Falun Gong practitioners) started cheering and applausing by saying that there was a character WAN in the sun. But we and schools faculties couldn't see anything. They told us that we couldn't see it because we didn't practice Falun Gong "

Chinese Government considered Li Hongzhi deified himself as Deity and induced the death of Falun Gong practitioner.

Here is an example. Practitioner Cao Yuzhen committed suicide from drowning in 1997.

"At that time, she only read Falun Gong books, practiced meditation frquently. She didn't do any housework. My wife said to discard all the feelings and desires when practicing. She became abnormal gradually and began to say ravings finally.

She often cried with a sudden sitting on the ground. Latter, I had to tied her and asked what happened. she said,' The Earth has been perished, Li Hongzhi sent me to save mankind.'

Finnally, the woman committed suicide and left her 8-year old son. She also wrote a letter to her husband before her death.

The general meaning of the letter was 'Li Hongzhi was a bad guy. I was unable to sleep everyday. I couldn't bear it. I'm so sorry, my husband. He let me to drown.'

I went north along the side of the river. I didn't find my wife when I reached the drugstore. I went towards a bridge on Yuhua Road and then I saw... "

Li Hongzhi said the earth will explode, doomsday is coming. The only way to avoid is practicing Falun Gong.
