Violet:Its funny that you mention that because I heard that docters say that we are only getting 10% of our energy from the air we breath when it really should be 60%.They say that we have to much shallow breathing and we breath from the chest instead of breathing from the belly.Which is what the internal martial arts( tai chi, bagua, Xing yi Quan) teach.

Sorry I forgot to post the link above:

From what I heard yoga was a originally ment to enable the person to unite with the gods which gets to my point.Does any one remember when paul wrote to that person who wanted to know if because the meat was put up as a sacrifice to others gods was it still good meat and paul said that meat is still good because it those gods do not exist?doesn't mean that the budhist gods do not exist either. I mean if your doing yoga movements It couldn't be wrong because those gods do not exist(considering your just doing it for health purposes).
Regardless of whether these gods exist or not, doing an activity to put you in touch with "other gods" could then lead you to be in touch with evil spirits masquerading as gods. There is only one God, and we can reach him through prayer. Meditation and deep breathing is not required.

I'm not sure about those breathing statistics myself. While there might be some truth to them, I'm not sure of the practicality of it. If we are functioning well with only 10% of the air, then why should we need more? I feel that if we were using 60%, it would expend more energy to reach that level than would be necessary.

Equally, when we reach our VO2Max (the most oxygen we can inhale and transport around our bodies per minute), we need no more oxygen then that. I'm sure that using more oxygen could improve energy levels, but at what cost?

I'd say stick to regular breathing and just focusing on God, thanking him for all we have within our own powers without having to do anything extra. If God wanted us to use 60% of the air we breathe for energy, He would have made us so.

I really believe Chi, Mediation and extra energy exercises are mans way of trying to make themselves greater than they need to be, and I'm not sure this is a Godly trait, as we Christians should be humble, and gain our strength through the Lord our God.
