I'm kind of waffling on this. Is there a point in scripture where it says there was a gap. Or is it a matter of interpretation. I am not a bible scholar, but I haven't seen anywhere in the Bible where it talks about a pre-Adamic age. Of course I study from the NIV and not the "original manuscripts"

Fair enough. I want to draw your attention to one very important gap that was found in the teachings of our Savior.
Luke 4:15-20
And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Jesus was quoting from
Isaiah 61:
Isaiah 61:1-2
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
That, my friend, is a gap. Christ stopped square in the middle for a reason. The day of vengeance for God is not yet at hand.
That's not the only one, though:
Zechariah 9:9-10
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
[Time Gap]
And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
II Peter 3:2-13 KJV
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God
the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
I've seen this misused time and again for Noah. Heaven never went anywhere during those 40 days and 40 nights.
I admit that Jesus never directly talked about the Earth ages. However, I think I have shown that the Scriptures let us know that there is more going on there when we look a little deeper. There are gaps and they are placed there for a reason. I agree 100% that understanding the world ages won't affect your salvation. However, I know that it gives one a better understanding at exactly what is going on in this world and exactly why we are where we are.
