However if we do not believe he can give us the victory, he won't. Most importantly is to never say or think that it is okay for us to sin. Every time we sin we hurt God and when we look at the price Jesus had to pay for our sins we should feel guilty and humbly ask God for foregiveness. If we really are sorry for our sins he has promised to foregive us.

As long as we get up and move forward every time we fall and keep fighting, as someone else here said, that is the most important thing. God has promised to take care of us and help us along the way, but never give up. We can all overcome if we believe and let him help us.

Elijah, and every one else for that matter, I advise you to read this booklet called:

12 tips to resisting temptation

God bless.

“Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation” (Mark 14:38 ).
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you” (James 4:8).

You are correct. Maybe I should have went a little further with my comment to include overcoming evil.

My point was to encourage the brother. So many get the idea that they can live a sinless life and that idea just leads to further discouragement and failure.

But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” (Mat. 9:13)

Blessings in Christ,
