I have someone very close to me who is agnostic. Since last year I've tried to answer her questions by talking to her, sending her links to websites, reading things to her, watching "The Case for Christ" dvd, subscribing to "Answers" magazine, and all that stuff. ( Just for the record - I really have made a conscious effort to not be "pushy". In fact, I've only initiated a conversation regarding Christ once. )
Well, I've pretty much come to learn that my efforts at answering the questions about evolution, the "problem of evil", and many other fairly typical (and some not-so typical) questions probably aren't going to bring her to Christ. If fact, "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them." This is so true. With this in mind, now days when questions come up - I always try to simply direct the conversation to Jesus and the message of the gospel. Afterall, the message of the gospel is the only one that saves.
