At your university, do you have a counselor? Do you go to church and is there an elder or the pastor/priest/preacher that you can talk to? Or maybe a mental health clinic? Please seek help from one of them, or your father. He sounds like a man that can understand more than you realize. And keep posting, and let us know how you are.
