Personally, I have never heard of Iron Maiden, but my husband has. As born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are commanded to be separate from worldly pleasures (including worldly music, like Iron Maiden). You cannot mix the Word of God with the world and still receive all that the Word of God has to offer. Just because a song mentions Christian words does not make it "Christian." Iron Maiden is simply a heavy metal rock band which has NOTHING to do with Jesus Christ. Take a good hard look at the song lyrics and the album covers of Iron Maiden--furthest thing I've seen from being Christian. Compare all this to what the Bible says about "walking in the Spirit" and being "conformed to the image of Christ".

Quote:
Here are seven principles of spiritual music:

(1) It must be understandable (1Co 14:15).

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. (1 Corinthians 14:15)

(2) It must be under the control of the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18-19).

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; (Ephesians 5:18-19)

(3) It must be "to the Lord" (Eph 5:19).

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; (Eph 5:19)

(4) It must be thankful (Eph 5:20).

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; (Ephesians 5:20)

(5) It must be in the name of Jesus Christ (Eph 5:20).

Giving thanks always
for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; (Ephesians 5:20)

(6) It must be based on the Word of Christ (Col 3:16).

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16)

(7) It must be sung with grace in the heart to the Lord (Col 3:16).

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16)
