Look in
1 Thessalonians 3...... it tells us that if a man does not work, then he shall not eat. (Verses 7-14)
If a person is able bodied and refuses to work, then you are under no obligation from God to provide for that man.
When the Bible speaks of providing for the poor, it often pairs the word with others words such as orphan, widow, etc. It is speaking about helping out those who have a legitimate need.
