Ok , I have to be honest . I have been one of those so called " private persons " who all my life was afraid to tell any one wrong things I have done . I guess it is because I did tell some one and got nothing but condemnation and then it was thrown up in my face from time to time. Lesson in the school of hard knocks .... learned.

Admitting our wrongs :

1 ....First we must admit our wrongs to God
2.... Then admit our wrongs to ourselves.
3.....Then we admit our wrongs to another person. But, I must caution please make sure it is a person of integrety and honour and some one that you trust and that you know God has instucted you to tell . Otherwise like me that can be devastating.

God invites us to the spiritual discipline of confession. Confession is an act of obedience and is Biblical. It is imperative with a promise of healing.

And some people say the 12 steps didn’t come from the Bible.

Step 4 - We admitted to "God", to "ourselves", and to another "human being", the exact nature of our wrongs

One thing I’ve learned for me is this.
It’s not enough for me to just admit what I did wrong, but to learn why I did it and bring that into the confession as well.
If I learn why I did something wrong, (the exact nature) there is a better chance of me not doing it again.

And yes, in the program, it is recommended to choose the person who will listen to you very carefully.
I know of a woman who confessed her wrongs to her sponsor. Someone who she was suppose to be able to trust. By the time she got home, her husband knew everything.
That caused a lot of trouble for her.
