What an interesting conversation...I would like to jump in and I just have to comment on Housesitters comment to a poster.
I was at worship ministry practice last night and was able to stay and talk with Pastor and his wife about marriage...he referred to his wife as "his rib"...lovingly and admittedly needing her as part of himself. He pointed to her and said "she is my rib"...I just had to laugh with the above comment after hearing Pastor say this. I don't know what the poster said in his comment but it did sound like it may not have had the love and admiration that my Pastor had in his voice when he told me that. I really don't mind being referred to as my husband's rib...maybe he will have the revelation that God has made me "flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone"...
((((Whirlwind)))) I am so sorry to hear of your experiences and I have experienced some of the same. I have my stepdaughter (17) who lives with us and her father has said some similar things to me. I would not ask him to choose between us; just choose me also. I don't believe that blended families was God's intention at all...but I do believe that He can use them to mature us and draw us closer to Him and each other.
