I suggest more people read the Parable Christ gives of the "Richman and Lazarus."
You don't hear of any creatures tormenting the richman. Where do we get this "tormentors" being real creatures? Matt. 18:34 only speaks of earthly tormentors, of which the Romans were pros at that.
Christ speaks of the torment the richman brought up, of the pain and suffering from the fire- (cool my lips), but never anything about living creature tormentors in Hell. The "tormentors" are the fire and brimestone. The pain and agony suffered. Unquenched fire burning all the time, the intense heat, etc.
They are the "tormentors", for if we look at fire in this physical world, fire only burns, so long as it has fuel to feed it. But in Hell, fire lives as you and I do, but as a spiritual fire, that never dies, never quits, never stops burning, an eternal fire.
In Hell, it is spirit bodies that are held in bondage there, in order to live with this torment forever. Besides, Abraham told the richman that our spirits cannot leave the places we are sent, not to mention, if could, the "Gulf" is too great to be crossed to get anywhere for our spirits.
And just like our spirits when go to Heaven and we can see, feel, hear, touch and more, everything going on, so too can those in Hell. (Again the richman's exchange with Abraham). The richman could see outside the boundaries of Hell, which is why he asked Abraham to send Lazarus to him, to cool his lips of the "torment".
When in Heaven, spirits can watch and see all that goes on, in this physical world-
Rev. 6:9- opening of fifth seal. And they can still experience feelings and emotions as noted there also.
Being "cast into outer darkness", stands for the being bound in Hell by the sins each unsaved committed. Thier level of torment, just like the rewards we will recieve or lose, will also be based on thier works of good or evil during life on earth.
I Cor. 6:9,
Jude 6.
The "everlasting chains under darkness", refers to Satan and his demons inability to repent, but stay in bondage of darkness, for wanting to disobey God. "Bound by thier sin".
This description given of Hell is no more accurate, than several other ones I'd read, for they do not coincide with descriptions of Hell in God's Word.
The descriptions given, where satan and his demons are not tormented in Hell, but are based there and torment spirits of unsaved people, is a lie. Why?
In one descriptive I read, its supposedly Jesus who comes to get this person and take them on a tour of Heaven and Hell. But, here is where Satan clearly screwed up-
While this - supposed Jesus was next to thespirit of this person in Hell, Satan appears in front of them. But, he is only seen from the back, never from the front. How so? Why?
Because, Satan himself can appear as an Angel of Light. So, if he is masquerading as Jesus, how could he allow any person to see who this impersonating demon of Satan was, if when they turned to look at them, they'd know right away it was not Satan.
God never says anywhere in His Word, where Lucifer lost any of his looks, abilities or intellegence when cast out of God's Domain. Thats why, if look at how beautiful God had created Lucifer- Ezek. 28:13-16, you'd find he was created beautiful beyond compare as a Cherub Angel- (13). So, its easy to understand how he could imitate an "Angel of Light" then.
Thus, too many of those supposed descriptions of Hell are wrong, not of God. Satan would rather have us believe he is smart enough, strong enough and powerful enough to have total control over something. Yet he does not over anything.
God may declare Satan is the god of this world, but Satan is still not in total control. For God declares He is in control of all things. Thus, Satan only has partial control over anything. And that relies upon any of which man lets him have control over.
God Bless!!
