I still have a hard time believing this guy. I've seen his book at Walmart for the past...oh, year or so? I've picked it up, flipped it open and tried to decide whether or not to buy it.
Nowhere out of the blue, this guy spent 23 minutes in hell? And he turns it into a book (for profit)? I've seen people die in terrible car crashes, and I still can't talk about it today without crying. This man, we're supposed to believe, saw hell with his own eyes (much, much worse than just a crash) and he can stand on stage and smile a politician's grin while his wife introduces him? Wouldn't he be in an insane asylum if he really did see hell?
After a lot of consideration and reading about it...I decided not to buy the book. The author seemed (to me, anyway) to be another person who wasn't just happy being a Christian, but wanted to be more like a prophet or in a place of high authority above his fellow Christians.
The same as no man being able to see the face of God and live because no physical flesh can withstand that much glory...I think that seeing hell even for a second would be enough to put any man into shock that would last the rest of his life. It'd be terrifying.
What the author does for me here and now is this: he makes me want to stay out of hell, so God bless him on his quest.
