That was always a concern, the translation. I would rather do the enterpreting, just let someone translate it directly. I had heard that the KJV was the best translation, so that's what I read. The "Companion Bible" sounds like something I would be interested in if it is the KJV with more background on the how things were translated.

Why bibles are manufactured the way they are is beyond me. Half of them are not made to read, they are made to look at. Pages so thin you could roll a cigarette out of one. Italics that make the words hard to read. Bindings that fail when the book is read. Spent money on one bible and it was essentially useless. Had to go out and get another one. Cost 1/10 of the price and it's a work horse.

Happiness is a good bible.
